I wanted to say thanks again to @gerald.ong_ for sending me their latest release - orchid texture paste to try. I’ve been wanting to try the brand!
The label is neat and beautiful as it has a metallic grey colour and the orchid graphic really brings out the products name. The design is well executed.
The scent is black orchid which has a pleasant floral, woody scent. It just has the right balance so it’s not subtle or overpowering.
The paste is smooth so you just need some slight pressure to be able to scoop it. It also breaks down nicely with a good amount of grips and dryness.
The paste is easy to apply with just slight grips but if I apply with a normal scoop each time, it will weight my hair down easier. It took me a couple of days to test it well so I could find the best way for me to use it. The best amount for me to use is three dime-sized scoops as this gives me enough hold without weighing my hair down and still be able to achieve great texture and volume.
This is a great matte finish paste. It doesn’t take away my natural hair shine. Well done!
The hold I get is a firm hold but this will decrease to medium loose hold in about 4 hours. This means my volume decreases but it still holds in shape.
Restyle is not hard but I just can’t get the good result. In my experience, it flattens the shape of my hair and it loses the shape. This is the one thing I don’t like on dry product as sometimes it’s just can’t be restyled.
Wash out is easy and just requires one round of shampoo.
Overall, it’s a great well balance dry matte paste! It will definitely work better and last longer on shorter hair/ other hair type. But I do enjoy using it. The initial result I get is amazing and the scent wowed me! I’m sure I will have to pick up tropics matte clay next and I hope the brand will release UWB pomade in future!
